This is a large meat platter made in the Blue Willow pattern. The piece is fully transfer printed with blue on white decoration. The platter is made in a rectangular form and has a well at the right side that would collect any excess juices that would run through grooves through the centre of the platter. It measures 17 3/4 by 22 and has a height of 3 at its edge. It is in very good condition with only one chip on the underside (see last close-up photo) - otherwise, no cracks, other chips or scratches, maybe some micro crazing on the underside, rather normal for antique earthenware. The platter is unmarked, so I dont know the maker, which makes it more difficult to date precisely, but I would think that this is a 19th century platter of Staffordshire origin. This is a nice addition to a Blue Willow collection - fabulous wall display piece!
